Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is Valentine's Day!  It's a great day to remember the people, or pets, that you love.  It's a great time to let those people know that you care.  But it's also a great time remeber God's love.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭38-39‬

God's love is so great that nothing can seperate us from that love.  In fact, God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us, who's love is equally as great.

that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  John‬ ‭3‬:‭15-16‬

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  II Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬

We know that we that we have been saved by God and live by His commandments because of our love for others.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  I John‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.  I John‬ ‭4‬:‭16

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  ‭I John‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.  I John‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬

God started love, for He loved us first.  And He showed us love that no one can exceed.

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  I John‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬

All of God's commandments were made for a purpose, this...

 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”  Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭30-31

Love is God's great gift to His creation.  He wanted to show us this gift through the laws He has set before us, and by saving us from our sin.  Without love, where would we be?
