Have you
ever watched a TV show, or a movie, where there is some kind of evil, super
natural being, who casts spells, and tries to win through fear and magic?
Usually I try to stay away from those kinds of “entertainment” that are super
dark and creepy. (Romans 12: 1-2, Philippians 4:8)
However, I
always think, that if I were in the movie, I would not try to win like the “good
guy” does in the movie. The good guy always fights magic with magic. God condemns
magic! (Micah 5:12, Ezekiel 13) So, how
would I “fight”? By rebuking the evil spirit, or “bad guy” in the name of Jesus!
(Acts 16: 16-18)
But, what’s
the big deal? Those are fake, just TV shows and movies, right? No. They’re not.
Spiritual war fare is a very real thing. And it’s happening all the time, all
around us. (2 Kings 6: 15-18)
We must
watch and pray, and guard our hearts and mind with the full armor of God,
daily. Because we do not fight people who practice or enjoy magic, we fight
against demons, and evil spirits, working within and around those people. (Ephesians6: 10-18)
Spiritual
war fare is very real, and greatly overlooked and forgotten. One strategy the
devil uses against followers of Jesus is to label the magic as “entertainment”.
If it’s not real, or called something else, like powers of some kind, then we
are being deceived easier. They may take away the spells from their powers, the
sorcery and chants from their performances, but the deeper meaning, whether
brought up or not, is always there. No matter how much you sugar coat evil, it
is still evil, even if it’s harder to see. Eventually we can become trapped in
the evil without realizing it. But we are to be watchful, and seek God’s righteous
wisdom every day. The only way to fight is to call on Jesus.
Evil spirits
are powerful. They can perform great mysteries beyond human understanding. But
the important thing to remember is that God is more powerful. It sounds scary,
but remember, you don’t have to be afraid, because Jesus has already won the
war! And He fights for you, and with you, at all times. (1 Timothy 2:5, Romans 8: 26, John 16: 33)
So, what
do we do when we encounter evil, and great resistance against the good works we
perform for the glory of God? We pray. We rebuke the evil in the name of Jesus,
knowing that Jesus is victorious. (1 Peter 5: 8-11)

Loves You! <3
I'm so glad you posted this. Our weapons are not carnal, but are mighty through Christ Jesus to the pulling down of strongholds and powers of darkness. All the evil that happens is from Satan who is trying to destroy Jesus because he wants to be the one who rules and reigns, but, as you said, Jesus has already won! Nothing can change that. We will see the victory some day.
