You are Loved!

I recently saw a quote that stated the following:

“You have never gone through one second of your life unloved.”

This statement is so true. But I bet that you are thinking how this can be possible.

My first thought, when I read this quote, was that everyone is loved by someone at least once, right? I would even go as far as saying that the moment someone may have stopped loving you was the moment someone else started loving you. But that is not what this quote is saying. The love that is mentioned here is not that of natural human love. You are loved by God.

Think about that. The creator of the universe, who made the stars, the sun, the moon, the earth, all the planets, comets, dust, water, plants, mountains, rocks, birds, elephants, lions, kangaroos, frogs, fish, and everything else, loves YOU! He created you. He knew you before you were born, before you were conceived in your mother’s womb. He knew where you were from, where you were going, what you were going to do before you were going to do it, whether good or bad. And He still loves you! You are His very good creation. The world wasn’t complete until He made a way for you to be in it.

God was so lonely, talking to Himself, that He decided to make a friend. He made outer-space to hold the earth, making the earth, so that we would have something to live in. Then He made us to talk to, to have a relationship with. Our longing for a companion comes from the very heart of God Himself. And He made you and me in His own image, because we are His special creation, and He loves us.

You may not know what a love like this is like. You may have been born to a teenaged mother who was at her wit’s end. You may have grown up with a distant family member who didn’t want another burden. You may have been cheated on by the person you were dating, who told you every day that they loved you. You may be wondering what is love, how can you know that love is real, how can you know that there is a God, and one that loves you. I want to tell you that what they did to you does not compare to the glory of God’s true, unconditional love for you.

God is love. Love is not God, but God is love. His very nature is to love. Without God, there is no such thing as love. If love wasn’t real, how would we know it even existed? We would not exist! How can you know God exists? Because you exist. How can you know God loves you? Because you exist.

He loved you so much He died for you. He took on human flesh, not someone else’s body, His own body. He lived a life of righteousness, and then paid the price for the bad things He knew you would do, before you were born. Then He rose back to life, because He wanted to spend time with you.

You have never gone through one second of your life unloved. And if you believe this, that God is the one who has made this statement true, then ask Him to forgive you of the bad things He knows you did, and accept Him into your heart, believing that He died for you, and is alive now. Call on the name of Jesus, and you will know that He loves you, then you can share His love, because it’s big enough for the whole world, and more.

God loves you, and He just wants you to love Him back.

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor.
